U. S.

stock futures declined on Tuesday morning as a retreat in technology shares pressured major indexes, while investors kept a close watch on diplomatic developments in the Middle East.

June S&P 500 E-Mini futures dipped 0.38 percent, and June Nasdaq 100 E-Mini futures fell 0.65 percent.

West Texas Intermediate crude prices dropped more than 1 percent following comments from the White House regarding geopolitical tensions.

Market Pressure Intensifies

The 10-year Treasury note yield increased two basis points to 4.62 percent, adding to the cautious mood.

Oil prices maintained a position above $100 per barrel, effectively limiting investor risk appetite during the morning trading session.

President Donald Trump announced alterations to military planning after discussions with international partners on Monday evening. He stated that the U.

S.

delayed strikes “for a little while, hopefully maybe forever,” because “we’ve had very big discussions with Iran, and we’ll see what they amount to.”

The policy shift occurred after regional partners requested a delay in military action to facilitate ongoing discussions with Iranian authorities concerning regional stability.

Analyst Views and Market Sentiment

Financial analysts noted that ongoing geopolitical uncertainty continues to influence trading patterns across major asset classes.

“The lack of clarity around diplomatic progress and the risk of renewed escalation are still keeping markets cautious,” said Zaheer Anwari, analyst at The Revacy Fund.

Market participants also reacted to corporate performance and broader macroeconomic constraints during the prior trading session, which concluded with mixed results across Wall Street indexes.

“Strong equity markets (outside of Friday’s sell-off), upside inflation surprises, and resilient growth likely cannot coexist indefinitely,” said Stephanie Roth, analyst at Wolfe Research.

The broader market saw significant downturns in semiconductor, artificial intelligence infrastructure, and cryptocurrency-related equities.

Corporate developments included a failed clinical trial for Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and a $67 billion acquisition agreement for Dominion Energy by NextEra Energy.
